Andrew Lambert

Andrew Lambert is an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at City University of New York, College of Staten Island. He has been a visiting scholar at Peking University and at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and was a Mombusho Scholar at Kyoto University. His research focuses primarily on ethics and Chinese thought, particularly the relationship between conceptions of moral conduct and personal attachment. His recent publications include, “Friendship East and West: How the Confucians help us rethink the morality of friendship” and “Confucian Ethics and Care: An Amicable Split?” and “Rethinking disability through classical Daoist thought.” He has also translated various works in Chinese philosophy, including Li Zehou’s book Zhongguo Gudai Sixiang Shilun (A History Ancient Chinese Thought).
