Doil Kim

Doil Kim received his PhD in Philosophy from the University of Toronto and has worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Confucian Studies at Sungkyunkwan University, Korea, since 2014. His research interest is primarily in early Confucian ethical and political thought. One of his latest articles in English is “The Ideal State for Humans in Early Chinese Thought,” Philosophy East and West (2014). He has also published several articles on Mencius (孟子), Xunzi (荀子), and Zhu Xi (朱熹) in various Korean journals. Recently, his research focuses on the East Asian virtue, qian xun (謙遜, modesty), and its original form in early China, qian (謙).
