Robert Anthony Carleo III is a PhD candidate in Philosophy at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He holds an M.Phil from Fudan University, Shanghai in Chinese Philosophy and has worked on early bamboo and silk manuscripts, pre-Qin Chinese philosophy, and contemporary Chinese philosophy. He has also completed several translations from contemporary Chinese philosophers into English, including the work of Li Zehou, Yang Guorong, Chen Lai, and Guo Qiyong. He currently researches comparative political and ethical theory, focusing especially on liberalism and Mencian Confucianism.
