Yu Kam-por

Yu Kam-por is Honorary Fellow and former Director of the General Education Centre of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He has been Associate Professor in the Department of Public and Social Administration of the City University of Hong Kong, and Research Fellow in the Philosophy Department of the Hong Kong University, Institute of Advanced Studies in the Humanities of the University of Edinburgh, Center for European Integration Studies of Bonn University, and the Harvard School of Public Health of Harvard University. His recent publications include the following books: Taking Confucian Ethics Seriously, Ethical Dilemmas in Public Policy, The Hows and Whys of The Book of Filial Piety, and Handbook of Social Ethics, and a series of papers on the Confucian views on war, peace, harmony, civility, rights, toleration, education, and pluralistic values. His latest works on Neo-Confucianism include “Zhu Xi and Buddhism” in Dao Companion to Zhu Xi’s Philosophy and a review of Huang Yong’s Wby Be Moral? Learning from Neo-Confucian Cheng Brothers in Philosophy East and West.
