The programs offered by the Department emphasize the dynamics and values of Chinese culture in the context of contemporary society. They are designed to nurture students’ understanding and appreciation of the panorama of Chinese culture, including its intellectual foundation and its multifarious expressions. They are to help students find relevance of Chinese history and philosophy in the modern world and in their daily life.
Our programs are taught in Putonghua, but also in Cantonese where appropriate. To cater for non-Chinese speakers, some classes will be conducted separately in English.
